Magical Thinking in The Time of Pandemic

Fellow Unicorns:

This themed special feature, Unicorns, reflects the hard work of students from The College of Saint Rose. We worked hard to come up with a theme that best describes ourselves as a group, and would appeal to our diverse interests in the abnormal, self growth, and reflection. We put together this special feature during a time of pandemic, of the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), of quarantine, of going home, and also of great loss. Now more than ever, as we traverse the world of social distancing, it is important to retain our capacity to dream magical thoughts. Over the course of putting together this project, we have seen what it takes to make a unicorn, be it an archer with a secret, regrets of an actual unicorn, or the trials and tribulations of being a part of the LGBTQ community. We’re all unicorns and we’ve all got our flaws.

So hop up in the saddle with us, at least six feet away, and strap in, because you’re in for a bumpy ride. (Any injury or illness caused by or related to riding a unicorn is not associated with Pine Hills Review and therefore are not at fault. Please ride at your own risk.)

Stay safe and this too shall pass.

With love from a distance,

Tori Felter and the Editorial Team of Pine Hills Review
